When you read that word, what comes to mind?
Freaaaaaaking freezing temps?
Valentine’s Day? Ah, yes.
Valentine’s Day often comes to mind. When most people think of Valentine’s Day, they often think of romantic love, but V-Day doesn’t only have to be about romantic love.
Do you remember sharing Valentine’s Day cards and candies with your classmates as a kid?
Valentine’s Day isn’t only about sharing romantic love, and it doesn’t necessarily have to revolve around your relationships with other people. Valentine’s Day can be about your relationship with you. Duh!! 😉
Show yourself how much you love you. Write yourself a Valentine card. Take yourself out on a date. Take a nice hot bath with incense. Take the time to make yourself your favorite dinner. Have that painting day you’ve been putting off due to being too busy. Go to your favorite hiking place and enjoy nature. Buy yourself flowers (even go all out and have them delivered). Take yourself to a spa. Buy yourself a book you won’t be able to put down.
So many people I know get all caught up in a Hallmark holiday that takes away their power and makes them feel unworthy if there isn’t someone else making them feel special. You already are special!
Remember: the day is supposed to be about love.
Don’t forget to reach out to those you care about. Send Valentines. Surprise someone. There’s plenty of love to share!
Cultivate this love for yourself and others not only on Valentine’s Day, but throughout all of February.
I hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s
Day Month (with hearts and flowers and chocolate kisses)!
